In-Store Exchanges and Returns

General Exchange Policies

  • Items can be exchanged with proof of purchase if they are undamaged in their original, resalable condition (with tags or in original packaging).
  • Damaged, defective, or open items are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Please Note: Any difference that needs to be credited to your account for an exchange can take up to 7-10 business days to process. After we apply the credit to your card, the card-issuing bank can take several weeks to apply this credit to your account. This policy will be specific to your card-issuing bank, so please inquire with your banking institution with concerns about delayed credits.


General Return Policies

    *Exceptions - The following items are nonrefundable: reference books and study aides, art paper, food items, headphones and earbuds if opened, clearance items, and any other item labeled “Non-returnable if opened.”
  • Damaged, defective, or open items are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • Refunds are given in the same method of payment as the original transaction (i.e. if the purchase was with cash, the refund will be with cash). If the purchase was with a debit or credit card, please have the card (or card number and expiration date) available at the time of return.

  • Damaged, defective, or open items are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
  • To make a return or exchange, please mail the product back to us at: WOU Bookstore, 345 N. Monmouth Ave., Monmouth, OR, 97361. Please include a note explaining what you would like to do, and we will confirm your request by phone upon receipt of your package.
  • When returning an item for a refund or exchange, original shipping costs and return shipping fees are nonrefundable.
  • When exchanging an item, we will ship the replacement item at no additional cost in nearly all cases.
  • Refunds are given in the same method of payment as the original transaction. We will use the card information we have on file, and the original credit or debit card will be credited the refund amount.
  • For exchanges, your credit or debit card will be charged or credited for the difference, depending on the cost of the replacement item. We will be sure to contact you if we need to charge your card for additional funds.

Rentals
  1. Rental textbooks must be returned in a clean and resalable condition on or before the rental due date (last day of finals). Salable condition will be determined by us in our sole discretion, but generally means book spine intact, without excessive damage or any water damage to the cover or contents, all original pages intact, all original components present, and no excessive highlighting, writing or other markings.
  2. The rental fee may be applied toward a purchase of the same retail title within the first two weeks of term.
  3. Rental textbooks follow the same refund schedule as regular textbooks. [link to Textbook Refunds]
  4. Outstanding rental textbooks and rental textbooks returned damaged and/or unusable will be charged to your Federal Title IV Financial Aid and/or your WOU Account.
